BPL Auction: Time, Venue and Where to Watch
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set for one of its most anticipated events in over a decade as the players' auction returns for the 12th edition after a 12-year hiatus. The last auction was held during the league's inaugural seasons in 2012 and 2013, before switching to the draft system. This revival has generated buzz among franchise owners, players and fans, promising more competitive bidding and dynamic team formations.
Date, Place & Time
The 12th BPL Players' Auction will be held on 30 November 2025 at the Grand Ballroom of Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka. The event kicks off at 4:00pm BST.
The auction will be broadcast live on T Sports and streamed on the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) YouTube channel. The BCB will also provide media with photos and video highlights throughout the proceedings.
Auction Highlights
Franchises are gearing up with new strategies, as the format allows for intense bidding. Each team can register up to 22 players, including reserves. Regulations mandate at least two and no more than four overseas players in the playing XI. Teams may also include up to 12 support staff on their roster.
The five confirmed franchises – Dhaka Capitals, Chattogram Royals, Rajshahi Warriors, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Titans – will participate, marking the start of a new franchise ownership cycle with transparent bidding aligned to international T20 standards.
