The 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have witnessed a significant decline in results, with an average pass rate of 58.83% across 11 education boards. However, defying this nationwide dip, all 12 cadet colleges in Bangladesh achieved a 100% pass rate, with 587 out of 589 examinees securing GPA-5, resulting in a remarkable 99.66% GPA-5 achievement rate.

Authorities attribute this consistent success to the disciplined environment within cadet colleges, the cadets’ perseverance, regular studies, and dedicated efforts. The Cadet Colleges Governing Council’s effective guidance, combined with the expertise of principals, vice-principals, faculty members, staff, and the cooperation of guardians, has been instrumental in this outstanding outcome. This mirrors last year’s performance, where cadet colleges also recorded a 99.66% GPA-5 rate in the 2024 HSC exams.

Sources note that Bangladesh’s cadet colleges, operating under the Ministry of Defence and supervised by the Adjutant General of the Bangladesh Army and the Chairman of the Cadet Colleges Governing Council, are residential institutions focused not only on academic excellence but also on shaping cadets into disciplined and responsible citizens. Alongside academics, equal emphasis is placed on character building and co-curricular activities. The colleges continuously integrate innovative educational and co-curricular programmes to ensure cadets can compete in the modern era and attain respectable positions in society.
