The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were published today at 10:00am across 11 education boards. The average pass rate across all boards is 58.83%, down from 77.78% in 2024. The number of institutions with a 100% pass rate has decreased to 345 from 1,388 last year, a drop of 1,043.

This year, girls outperformed boys, with 59,232 more girls passing and 4,991 more achieving GPA-5 across all boards. In the nine general education boards, 87,814 more girls passed, and 5,097 more secured GPA-5. GPA-5 achievers dropped to 69,097 from 1,45,911 in 2024, a decrease of 76,814. Zero-pass institutions rose to 202 from 65 last year. Total institutions increased by 205, and centres by 105.

Stakeholders attribute the results to initiatives by the Education Ministry, positive teacher-student classroom interactions, technology-driven teaching, growing parental awareness and cooperation, and the smooth, peaceful conduct of exams.
