HSC GPA-5 Drops by 76 thousand

The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were announced today at 10:00am across 11 education boards. Out of 12,51,111 examinees, 69,097 achieved GPA-5, a significant drop of 76,814 from last year’s 1,45,911.
A total of 7,26,960 students passed, yielding a pass rate of 58.83%, down 18.95% from 2024’s 77.78%.
Students can access results from their institutions after 10:00am or online via education board websites. The exams, starting June 26, saw 12,51,111 participants across 11 boards, with 10,55,398 from nine general boards (72,883 fewer than last year). These students appeared under 4,808 institutions at 1,605 centres.
Under the Madrasah Board, 86,102 Alim examinees participated (1,974 fewer than last year) across 2,682 madrasahs at 459 centres. The Technical Board had 1,09,611 HSC (Vocational) and Diploma in Commerce candidates (7,025 fewer than last year) across 1,824 institutions at 733 centres.
Written exams ended on August 19, with practicals from August 21 to 31. As per tradition, results were published within 60 days of the written exams.
How to Check Results
Students can access results in three ways:
- Visit www.dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd, click Result corner, enter institution’s EIIN to download institution-based result sheet.
- Go to www.educationboardresults.gov.bd, enter roll and registration numbers to download result sheet.
- Via SMS: Type HSC and send to 16222. Example: HSC Dha 123456 2025 to 16222.
Re-scrutiny applications start on October 17. Inter-Education Board Chairman Khandaker Ehsanul Kabir said submissions can be made via www.rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd from October 17 to 23. Details will be available on board websites and in newspapers.
