Cumilla Board Records Highest Failure Rate in HSC Exams

The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, announced today, show an average pass rate of 58.83% across nine general, madrasah, and technical education boards, a decline of 18.95% from last year. Cumilla Board recorded the lowest pass rate at 48.86%.

Cumilla Education Board Chairman Professor Shamsul Alam announced the results on Thursday morning.

According to board sources, 99,576 students appeared for the HSC exams under Cumilla Board, with 48,657 passing and 50,919 failing, resulting in a 48.86% pass rate. A total of 2,707 students achieved GPA-5.

Among passers, the science stream recorded a 62.64% pass rate, business studies 44.8%, and humanities 43.9%.

Among general boards, Dhaka recorded a 64.62% pass rate, Rajshahi 59.40%, Jashore 50.20%, Chattogram 52.57%, Barishal 62.57%, Sylhet 51.86%, Dinajpur 57.49%, and Mymensingh 51.54%. The Technical Board reported a 62.67% pass rate, while the Madrasah Board led with 75.61%.
