Over 5 Lakh Fail in HSC, Equivalent Exams

The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were announced on Thursday at 10:00am across 11 education boards, revealing a pass rate of 58.83%. However, 5,08,701 students, or 41.17% of examinees, failed.
Students can access their results through their institutions, education board websites, or SMS.
Analysis shows that 12,35,661 students appeared for the exams, with 7,26,960 passing, yielding a 58.83% pass rate. Meanwhile, 5,08,701 students failed, accounting for 41.17%.
Among general education boards, Dhaka recorded a 64.62% pass rate, Rajshahi 59.40%, Cumilla 48.86%, Jashore 50.20%, Chattogram 52.57%, Barishal 62.57%, Sylhet 51.86%, Dinajpur 57.49%, and Mymensingh 51.54%. The Technical Education Board reported a 62.67% pass rate, while the Madrasah Board led with 75.61%.
