HSC and equivalent exams see 58.83% pass rate

The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under all education boards were announced on Wednesday at 10:00am.
Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee Chairman and Dhaka Education Board Chair Professor Dr. Khandaker Ehsanul Kabir formally declared the results.
According to board sources, 7,26,960 students passed, with a pass rate of 58.83%. Of the total, 6,11,447 boys appeared, 3,33,864 passed, 32,053 scored GPA-5, and boys' pass rate was 54.60%. Meanwhile, 6,24,215 girls sat for the exams, 3,93,096 passed, 69,097 scored GPA-5, and girls' pass rate was 62.97%.
Students can check their results from their respective institutions starting this morning, as well as the education boards' websites.
The written exams ended on August 19, and practical tests were held from August 21 to 31. Over 12 lakh candidates participated. As per the Public Examinations Act, results are published within 60 days of the written exams’ conclusion.
Under 11 education boards, 12,51,111 students appeared, including 6,18,015 boys and 6,33,096 girls, across 2,797 centers nationwide.
How to check results
The notice states that students can access HSC and equivalent results in three ways:
- Visit www.dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd, click on the Result corner, enter the institution's EIIN to download the institution-based result sheet.
- Go to www.educationboardresults.gov.bd, enter roll and registration numbers to download the result sheet digitally.
- Check via SMS: Type HSC <Board name (first 3 letters)> <Roll> <Year> and send to 16222. Example: HSC Dha 123456 2025.
Additionally, applications for HSC and equivalent re-scrutiny will begin on October 17. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee Chairman said submissions can be made via www.rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd from October 17 to 23. Details will be available on education board websites and newspapers.
