The results of this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on Thursday, October 29, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has confirmed.

The decision was announced in a notice issued on Saturday night and signed by Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

Earlier, on October 20, The Daily Campus reported in a story titled “HSC Results Likely to Be Published on October 29” that October 29 was the most likely date for the results. The report, citing sources at the Ministry of Education and other relevant officials, said preparations were underway accordingly.

The notice issued on Saturday said, “This is to inform all concerned that a decision has been taken to publish the results of the HSC and equivalent examinations 2026 on October 29 (Thursday). Detailed information regarding the results will be announced through a press release on October 26 (Monday).”

Speaking to The Daily Campus on Saturday night, Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman also confirmed that the HSC results would be published next Thursday and said the decision had been finalised.

He added that the decision was made following discussions with Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon.

This year's HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2 and ended on August 8. Practical examinations were scheduled to be completed by August 15. However, natural disasters prevented several written examinations under the Chattogram Education Board from being held as scheduled.

After the postponed examinations were rescheduled, the board completed its written examinations on September 9. A total of 1,270,583 regular and irregular candidates sat for this year's HSC and equivalent examinations.
