Clash Breaks Out Between JCD and Shibir in Front of National Medical College
A violent clash broke out between activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir in front of Dhaka National Medical College Hospital in Old Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon, involving student political groups from three neighboring educational institutions.
The confrontation erupted at approximately 2:30 PM on Tuesday (August 4), involving rival political factions from Jagannath University (JnU), Kabi Nazrul Government College, and Shaheed Suhrawardy Government College.
According to preliminary reports, the conflict stemmed from an earlier dispute at Jagannath University over the display of placards involving Chhatra Dal activists and leaders of the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (Jaksu). The disagreement rapidly escalated, culminating in direct street-level clashes between Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir members in front of the medical college.
