Ideal-Dhaka College peace pact broken as buses vandalised on 30th day

Higher secondary students from Ideal College in Dhanmondi vandalised two buses of Dhaka College on the 30th day of a truce between the two institutions, leading to fresh clashes.

The incident sparked renewed tension and violence between students of the two capital colleges. It occurred around 10:10 am on Tuesday (9 December) near Science Lab intersection.

Sources said the clash stemmed from an assault on 7 December when over half a hundred HSC students from Dhaka College jointly beat an Ideal College student at Shahbagh, leaving him seriously injured. The victim’s condition deteriorated critically, leading to his admission in an intensive care unit.

In retaliation, Ideal College students targeted two Dhaka College buses named ‘Bijoy-71’ and ‘Shankhniil’ at Science Lab today and vandalised them.
