Class XI Admission: Documents Students Need for College Admission

A total of 980,815 students have been allocated seats at different colleges in the first phase of Class XI admission for the 2026-27 academic year. The first-phase results were published around 7:45pm on Wednesday (September 16). Students who have been allocated seats must complete the admission confirmation process within the stipulated deadline. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their selection and application.

After confirmation, students will have to complete the final admission process at their respective colleges by submitting the required documents.

Documents required for Class XI admission

Students should keep the following documents with them when going to college for admission:

• A copy of the SSC marksheet and certificate
• Online copies of the marksheet and certificate, if accepted by the college
• SSC admit card
• Two to four passport-size photographs
• Online application confirmation letter
• Mobile phone numbers of the student and their parent or guardian

Students should check with their respective colleges if any additional documents are required.

Class XI admission figures

A total of 1,144,687 students passed the SSC and equivalent examinations this year. Of them, 956,571 applied for Class XI admission, meaning around 84 percent of successful candidates applied.

According to board data, 995,230 students applied for Class XI admission this year. Based on their college preferences, they submitted a total of 5,615,525 applications.

In the first phase, around 98 percent of applicants were allocated seats at one or more colleges.

The board said 25,033 students did not receive a seat at any college in the first phase. However, another set of board data puts the number of applicants who failed to secure a seat at 14,415, indicating an inconsistency in the figures.

Confirmation deadline

Students who received college allocations must complete confirmation by paying the prescribed confirmation fee through mobile financial services or other approved payment methods.

The deadline for confirmation is 8pm on Friday, September 18.

Students who fail to complete the confirmation within the deadline will have their selection and application cancelled.

College admission and classes

After completing confirmation, students will have to visit their allocated colleges and complete the final admission process between September 20 and September 22.

The admission process will be completed according to the schedule set by individual colleges.

Classes for the 2026-27 academic year are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 23.
