Class 11 Admission Draft Outlines Timeline: Applications to Begin Sept 15, Classes Nov 8
The draft policy for Class XI admissions has set out a three-month timeline covering online applications, selection results, admission, migration and the start of classes for students who passed this year’s secondary examinations. The Secondary School Certificate results were published earlier this week, and students are now preparing to begin the college admission process. According to sources concerned, the admission process is expected to take at least three months before classes begin.
A draft of the Class XI admission policy has already been prepared and is expected to be finalised next week. The draft sets dates for applications, publication of results, confirmation of selection, migration, college admission and the start of classes. As in previous years, applications will be submitted online.
According to the draft, online applications will be accepted from September 15 to September 30. Students who apply for re-scrutiny will also have to apply within this period if they become eligible for admission following a change in their results.
First Phase
Application scrutiny and resolution of objections will take place from October 1 to October 4. Students whose results change following re-scrutiny will be allowed to submit applications on October 6. They will also be able to change their preference order on the same day.
The results of the first-phase selection will be published on October 10. Selected students will have to confirm their selection between October 10 and October 13. If a student fails to confirm the selection within the deadline, both the first-phase selection and the application will be cancelled, requiring the student to apply again by paying the prescribed fee.
Second Phase
Applications for the second phase will be accepted from October 14 to October 17. The result of the first migration according to students’ preference order and the second-phase application results will both be published on October 19.
Students selected in the second phase will have to confirm their selection by October 21. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the second-phase selection and application, after which the student will have to submit a new application with the prescribed fee.
Third Phase
Applications for the third phase will be accepted from October 22 to October 24. The second migration result according to preference order and the third-phase application results will be published on October 26. Students selected in the third phase will have to confirm their selection by October 28. If they fail to do so, their third-phase selection will be cancelled.
Final Admission and Classes
The final migration results will be published on October 29. College admissions will take place from November 1 to November 5. Classes for newly admitted Class XI students are scheduled to begin on November 8, according to the draft policy. The dates are part of the draft admission policy and are expected to be finalised next week.
