Admission to 12 Cadet Colleges in 2025: Essential Information

Aspiring cadets, prepare yourselves for the 2025 Cadet College admission test, which will include a 40-mark section on general knowledge and intelligence. The examination is offering a gateway to one of Bangladesh’s most prestigious educational systems.

 

Operated under the Ministry of Defence and directly supervised by the Adjutant General Branch of the Bangladesh Army, Cadet Colleges are residential institutions that combine academic excellence with co-curricular and extracurricular activities to mold students into disciplined, responsible citizens. Bangladesh currently has 12 Cadet Colleges—nine for boys and three for girls—offering admission to the seventh grade. The admission test questions are based on the sixth-grade curriculum, and the selection process involves written, oral, and medical examinations.

 

Admission Test Syllabus and Structure  

The test follows the sixth-grade syllabus of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and carries a total of 300 marks, divided as follows: Mathematics (100 marks), English (100 marks), Bangla (60 marks), and General Knowledge (40 marks). The 3-hour exam covers four subjects, with the general knowledge section drawing from 5-6 diverse topics, requiring thorough preparation.

 

English Section (100 Marks)  

Based on the 2024 exam pattern, the English test included 11 questions, all mandatory. Key components were:  

- A passage with 5 questions (2 marks each, total 10 marks).  

- Identifying parts of speech for 5 given words (5 marks).  

- Filling blanks in 5 sentences with appropriate prepositions (5 marks).  

- Matching items from Column A and Column B (5 marks).  

- Transforming 5 sentences (5 marks).  

- Using the correct form of verbs in sentences (5 marks).  

- Rearranging jumbled words to form correct sentences (10 marks).  

- Correcting spelling in a passage (10 marks).  

- Correcting incorrect words in a passage (10 marks).  

- Writing a 10-sentence paragraph on a given topic (10 marks).  

- Completing a story within 10 lines based on a given excerpt (10 marks).

Practice past papers, especially for English, to master varied question types, and ensure a strong grasp of general knowledge topics to excel in the 40-mark section.
