Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will start accepting applications for the 2025-26 undergraduate admission from November 16. Aspirants will have over three weeks to apply.

The decision was finalised at the Academic Council meeting held on Saturday (October 25). The council also resolved to skip the preliminary MCQ test this year.

BUET Admission Test Organising Committee Chairman Prof Dr Abdul Jalil told The Daily Campus, “There will be no preliminary screening exam this time. Only the written test will determine eligible candidates. However, students will still have to appear for the oral exam as before.”

He confirmed the test date: “Our admission test will be held on January 10. Applications begin from November 16, and students will get a little over three weeks to apply. The admission circular is planned for publication in newspapers this week.”

Reaffirming strict eligibility, Prof Jalil said, “There is no change in application criteria. Like before, GPA-5 is required overall, and candidates must secure GPA-5 separately in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.”
