Notre Dame College: 2,454 students score GPA-5

The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams were published on Thursday at 10:00am, with a combined pass rate of 58.83% across nine general, madrasah, and technical boards. A total of 69,097 students achieved GPA-5. The Madrasah Board topped with a 75.61% pass rate. Notre Dame College Dhaka maintained its strong performance with a 99.23% pass rate.

Professor Dr. Khandaker Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board, officially announced the results.

According to board sources, 7,26,960 students passed. Of the total, 6,11,447 boys appeared, 3,33,864 passed, 32,053 scored GPA-5, and boys' pass rate was 54.60%. Meanwhile, 6,24,215 girls sat for the exams, 3,93,096 passed, 69,097 scored GPA-5, and girls' pass rate was 62.97%.

For Notre Dame College, 3,251 HSC candidates appeared, 3,226 passed, and 25 failed, yielding a 99.23% pass rate. Last year (2024), the college had a 99.94% pass rate, with 2,618 GPA-5 achievers out of 3,269 candidates (2 failed).

In business studies, 743 candidates appeared, 741 passed, and 378 scored GPA-5 (2 failed). In humanities, 395 appeared, 385 passed, and 108 scored GPA-5 (10 failed). In science, 2,113 appeared, 2,100 passed, and 1,968 scored GPA-5 (13 failed).

The results were declared simultaneously from all 11 boards at 10:00am: nine general boards (Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Mymensingh), Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, and Bangladesh Technical Education Board.

A total of 12,51,111 students appeared under 11 boards, including 6,18,015 boys and 6,33,096 girls, across 2,797 centres. About 27,000 did not sit for the exams.

The written exams ended on August 19, with practicals from August 21 to 31. Per the Public Examinations Act, results are published within 60 days of written exams.
