Dhaka Central University ordinance: Public feedback collection completed, consultations to begin soon

The process of collecting feedback from stakeholders and the public on the draft of the proposed ‘Dhaka Central University Ordinance’ has been completed, with over 6,000 opinions received. This was announced in a press release issued on Sunday by Khalid Mahmud, Public Relations Officer of the Education Ministry.
The draft ordinance was published on the website of the Secondary and Higher Education Division on September 24 for public feedback and remained open for comments until October 9, 2025.
The press release stated that the collected opinions are currently being compiled and analysed. The ministry plans to soon hold a series of consultation meetings with teachers, students, educationists, and representatives of civil society to ensure a participatory and transparent process. The ordinance will reflect the stakeholders’ views to ensure its effectiveness and practicality.
The release further noted that the Secondary and Higher Education Division is committed to formulating a realistic ordinance through a lawful process, incorporating constructive and representative feedback to optimise the education system for teachers, students, parents, and all stakeholders.
The ministry urged all concerned to actively participate and cooperate in the consultation process.
