CU Hosts Quran Recitation in Protest against NSU Student's Desecration

Chittagong University (CU) students organized a Quran recitation event on Monday to protest the desecration of the holy book by a North South University (NSU) student Apurba Pal.

The event, titled "Quran Tilawat Assembly," was held at 5:00pm in front of the CU Shaheed Minar, arranged by Chabian Dini Poribar (CU Religious Family).

Abdullah, responsible member of Chabi Dini Poribar, chaired the programme, with Mohammad Mujahid of Hizbullah as the chief qari.

Islami Chhatra Andolan Bangladesh CU branch president Md. Abdul Rahman and Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Majlis CU branch president Sakib Mahmud Rumi were also present.

Chabi Dini Poribar Shura member Md. Abdul Rahman said, "The Quran is the heartbeat of our life; we find guidance in its light. Desecrating it is unacceptable. We demand swift exemplary punishment for the NSU student involved in the Quran desecration."
