BOU VC and Treasurer to Attend International Conference in Chennai

Bangladesh Open University (BOU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam and Treasurer Professor Dr. Abul Hasnat Md. Shamim will participate in the international consultation on "Blended Learning in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)" in Chennai, India, from October 6–9.

Organized jointly by the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chennai and the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), the event will gather delegates from 12 countries to explore modern blended and industry-linked learning strategies.

Professor Dr. Obaidul Islam emphasized, “Blended learning is crucial for equipping our youth with both academic and practical skills. This consultation will strengthen BOU's commitment to lifelong and skills-based education.”

Professor Dr. Shamim added, “Skills development demands international collaboration. We seek to adopt sustainable models for education financing and management.”

During their absence, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Dil Rowshan Zinnat Ara Nazneen will serve as Acting Vice-Chancellor, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Saeed Ferdous, PhD, as Acting Treasurer.

The participation aligns with BOU's focus on innovative, accessible education amid Bangladesh's push for vocational training reforms.
