JKKNIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam Appointed UGC Part-Time Member

Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU), has been appointed as a part-time member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the next two years, effective October 5, 2025.

The appointment was confirmed through a letter signed by UGC Secretary Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam.

Under Section 4(1)(c) and 4(4) of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission Order, 1973 (President's Order No. 10 of 1973), the UGC's decision appoints him to contribute valuable advice and active cooperation in commission activities.

The letter congratulates Professor Alam and anticipates his contributions.

Expressing gratitude, Professor Alam stated, “The JKKNIU family is proud of this appointment. It will play a crucial role in advancing the university.”

Appointed JKKNIU Vice-Chancellor on September 19, 2024, by President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Professor Alam, a Dhaka University Sociology professor, brings expertise to UGC's oversight of higher education quality and development.
