The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has introduced significant changes to the question structure and marks distribution for the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in Bangla, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Finance and Banking. The announcement was made in a notification signed by NCTB Chairman Robiul Kabir Chowdhury on Monday (22 September).

According to the notification, the revised question structure and marks distribution for Bangla Second Paper, ICT, and Finance and Banking will take effect for the SSC and equivalent exams starting in 2026.

In Bangla Second Paper, the translation section in the creative writing part has been removed. The 10 marks previously allocated for translation will now be assigned to writing news reports.

For ICT, the short-answer question section has been eliminated. Instead, an additional 10 marks have been added to the existing 15-mark multiple-choice question (MCQ) section, making it a total of 25 marks for MCQs.

In Finance and Banking, there will be a total of 15 short-answer questions—8 from the Finance section and 7 from the Banking section. Examinees will need to answer a total of 10 questions, including at least 4 from one of the two sections.
