The EQ-2 (Education Quota-2) for the 2025-26 academic year’s online admission process for Class XI has not been cancelled but has been temporarily suspended. This decision was made by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee based on a stay order issued by the High Court on September 4, in response to a writ petition (No. 13780/2025). The matter was confirmed in a notification issued on Sunday (September 21) by the committee’s president and Dhaka Education Board Chairman, Professor Khandaker Ehsanul Kabir.
Earlier, on August 10, the admission guidelines had stated that this quota would apply to the children of teachers, officers, and employees working in government schools, colleges, schools and colleges, and education offices under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education. However, following the High Court’s directive, while the decision has not been revoked, it is not being implemented.
Notably, the EQ-2 quota was designated for the children of officers and employees working in 28 departments, directorates, and organisations under the Ministry of Education. These include the University Grants Commission (UGC), NCTB, Education Engineering Department, NTRCA, BANBEIS, NAEM, International Mother Language Institute, various education boards, and the directorates of madrasa and technical education, among others. For now, admission activities under this quota will remain suspended.
