Tarique Rahman Seeks Forgiveness and Prayers for Mother Khaleda Zia

In an emotional address before his mother Begum Khaleda Zia’s funeral prayer (janaza) at Manik Mia Avenue today, her eldest son and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman asked for forgiveness on her behalf and requested prayers for her forgiveness and peace in the afterlife.

Speaking on behalf of the family and the party, he said:

“Today, all my brothers and sisters present here — if my mother Begum Khaleda Zia had taken any loan or borrowed anything from any of you during her lifetime, please contact me. Inshallah, I will arrange to repay it.

At the same time, if anyone was hurt by my mother’s behaviour or any of her words while she was alive, then on behalf of the deceased, I sincerely seek your forgiveness.

Please pray that Almighty Allah grants her Jannatul Firdous (the highest level of Paradise).”

The janaza took place at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building and adjacent roads, attended by a massive crowd of people.
