Twin sisters secure admission to medical colleges, Miha to study at father's institution

Through sheer willpower, twin sisters have secured places in medical colleges in the 2025-26 academic session. Fabiha Zaman Miha, scoring 81.75 marks and ranking 873rd nationally, will study at Mymensingh Medical College. Her sister Lamisa Zaman Liha, scoring 75 marks and ranking 4,675th nationally, has secured admission to Netrokona Medical College.

Their achievement in the medical admission test results has brought waves of joy among family members, relatives, and local residents. The two meritorious sisters currently reside at Boundary Road in Mymensingh. Their ancestral home is in Bhati Sabhar village of Nandail upazila in Mymensingh district. Their father is Dr M Kamruzzaman Manik, associate professor of the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital. Their mother is Taslima Begum Lovely, assistant professor and head of the Chemistry Department at Nasirabad College.

Miha and Liha completed their primary, secondary, and higher secondary education from Mymensingh International School and Cantonment Public School and College. In the SSC examination of 2023, Miha scored 1,247 marks and Liha scored 1,241 marks, while in the HSC-2025 examination, Miha scored 1,192 marks and Liha scored 1,185 marks. They received scholarships in both examinations.

Their father, Dr M Kamruzzaman Manik, said this success belongs not only to their family but to all of Nandail. Their achievement will serve as great inspiration for students around them. Expressing hope, he said, "They will serve the country and people as humane physicians in the future."

He added, "One has to remain busy in one's profession. Behind my daughters' success, their hard work and the guidance of their teacher mother have been very effective. I am grateful to their teachers."

The twins' mother, Taslima Begum Lovely, said, "My daughters' hard work has paid off. I thank Allah. May they uphold their humane qualities throughout their lives, because humanity is very essential in the medical profession."

Expressing her feelings, Miha said, "Alhamdulillah. I want to become a humane doctor and serve my family, country, and people." Liha said, "Alhamdulillah. I want to become a doctor and serve people like my father."

On this remarkable achievement of Miha and Liha, Lt Colonel Abu Hayat Md Reashad Morshed, principal of Cantonment Public School and College Momensingh, said, "Miha and Liha, being twin sisters from the same family, have both achieved merit positions in the medical admission test this year. This is a uniquely proud moment for our institution."

Expressing his deep joy and pride as principal, he said, "Their success proves that nothing is impossible with perseverance, dedication, and proper guidance. I wish them a bright future."
