CUET publishes admission circular

Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) has released its admission circular for the 2025-26 undergraduate first-year session. This is the second consecutive year CUET is holding its own admission test after opting out of the engineering cluster.

Key dates

• Application period: 15 December 2025 – 31 December 2025 (midnight)
• Admission test: 17 January 2026
  • Morning: Multiple-choice exam
  • 12:45 pm onwards: Freehand drawing (for Architecture applicants)
• Result publication: 31 January 2026

Eligibility

• Passed SSC/equivalent in 2022 or 2023 and HSC/equivalent in 2025
• Minimum GPA 4.0 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined
• Minimum Grade B in English
• For Biomedical Engineering: Minimum GPA 4.0 in Biology at HSC level

Same criteria apply to English-medium, Madrasa, Technical and foreign boards.

• Group A (all Engineering departments + Urban & Regional Planning): Tk 1,200
• Group B (Group A + Architecture): Tk 1,400

Unsuccessful pre-selection candidates will get their fees refunded.

Seats & selection

• Total seats: 931 across 12 departments
• 16,000 candidates will be shortlisted for the test based on HSC results
• Tie-breaker sequence: Physics → Chemistry → Mathematics marks
