DU Fine Arts admission test today, 50 aspirants vie for each seat

The undergraduate admission test of Fine Arts Unit under Dhaka University (DU) for the 2025-26 academic session will be held today, Saturday (29 November). The test will run from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. This year, around 64 candidates are competing for each of the 130 seats on offer.
A total of 2,73,110 applications were submitted for admission to DU this year, down from 3,29,000 in the 2024-25 session, a drop of nearly 56,000. On average, 45 aspirants are contesting for each seat across all units, the DU online admission committee confirmed on 20 November.
For the Fine Arts Unit, 8,258 applications were received against 130 seats, translating to 63.52 applications per seat. Admit cards have already been issued.
The admission battle for the current year began on Friday with the IBA Unit test, where around 93 candidates competed for each seat.
According to the schedule published on the university website:
- 28 November (Friday): IBA Unit
- 29 November (Saturday): Fine Arts Unit (General Knowledge & Drawing)
- 6 December: Business Studies Unit
- 13 December: Arts, Law & Social Science Unit
- 20 December: Science Unit
Applications were accepted from 29 October to 19 November 11:59 pm. This year DU will admit students to 6,125 seats across five units.
Unit-wise breakdown:
- Science Unit: 1,14,103 lakh applications for 1,851 seats → 61.64 per seat
- Arts, Law & Social Sciences Unit: 1,07,701 applications for 2,934 seats → 36.71 per seat
- Business Studies Unit: 35,279 applications for 1,050 seats → 33.60 per seat
- Fine Arts Unit: 6,501 applications for 130 seats → 50.01 per seat
- IBA Unit: 9,526 applications for 120 seats → 79.38 per seat
The Fine Arts test comprises both MCQ on general knowledge and a practical drawing examination.
