Primary school students across the country will receive over 85 million new textbooks for the upcoming academic year, with more than 84 per cent of the books already printed, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has said.

According to NCTB data, a total of 85,925,379 copies are being prepared for primary-level students. Of these, 78,963,000 copies have been printed so far. Quality inspection (PDI) has been completed for 75,872,891 copies, which is 88.30 per cent of the printed books.

The remaining 11.70 per cent of printed books are awaiting PDI. To date, 72,363,752 copies have already been delivered to field-level centres.

Overall, 84.22 per cent of the total textbook production process has been completed, and the remaining work is expected to be finished within this month.

NCTB Production Controller Prof Abu Naser Tuku confirmed the progress to The Daily Campus, saying: “The newly printed books are being sent to the centres. Primary students will receive their books on time.”

He added that printing is continuing at full pace to ensure all textbooks reach students’ hands at the start of the new academic year.
