MIST ranked joint 4th best in Bangladesh in THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026

Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) has secured joint 4th position among Bangladeshi universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026, released today (20 November).

In the global list of 911 universities from 94 countries, MIST shares the 401–500 band with International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) and Jessore University of Science and Technology.

Dhaka University leads the country and South Asia at 52nd globally, followed by Rajshahi University (301–350) and Daffodil International University (351–400).

This is only the second edition of the ranking, which evaluates universities on their strength in cross-disciplinary scientific research using 11 performance indicators across funding, institutional support, and research output/impact.

Globally, MIT (USA) remains at the top, with the United States placing 27 institutions in the top 200, followed by India with 13.

MIST’s inclusion in the 401–500 band marks a significant achievement and reinforces its position among Bangladesh’s leading science and technology-focused institutions.
