JU Admissions 2025 Open 23 Nov with Increased Seats and Updated Fees

Jahangirnagar University (JU) will start accepting applications for the 2025-26 undergraduate (honours) admission test from 23 November next. The admission tests will begin from 21 December. Compared to last year, the application fees and the number of seats have both been increased this time.

Member Secretary of the Central Admission Test Committee and Deputy Registrar (Education) Mohammad Ali Reza confirmed the matter to The Daily Campus on Sunday (16 November).

Mohammad Ali Reza said applications will be accepted from 23 November and can be submitted till the full day of 7 December. He informed that the application fee for all units has been raised by Tk 100 this year.

He further said the fee for A, B, C and D units has been fixed at Tk 800 after a Tk 100 increase. Besides, Tk 600 has been set for C-1 and IBA-JU, while the fee for ‘E’ unit will be Tk 700.

A total of 26 seats have been added to last academic year’s 1,816 seats — 16 in the Faculty of Law and 10 in the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture. As a result, a total of 1,842 students will get the chance to be admitted this year.

Like last year, admission tests will be held in seven units including IBA-JU. The detailed schedule of admission tests will be published on the university website after the application period, he added.

It may be mentioned that last year admission tests were held in a total of seven units including JU-IBA. Unit ‘A’ covered Mathematical and Physical Sciences faculties, ‘B’ unit Social Sciences Faculty, ‘C’ unit Arts and Humanities Faculty, Law Faculty and Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture, while Drama and Dramatics and Fine Arts departments came under ‘C-1’ unit. ‘D’ unit included Biological Sciences Faculty and ‘E’ unit comprised the Business Studies Faculty.
