Two leaders have collected nomination forms from the National Citizen Party (NCP) for Feni-1 and Feni-3 constituencies ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election. On Saturday, they received the forms at the party's central office in Dhaka in the presence of NCP's top leaders.
Party sources said the NCP began selling nomination forms for the election on November 6. The minimum price is Tk 10,000, with a Tk 2,000 discount for July warriors and the injured. Ahsanul Mahbub Jubair, a central member, collected the form for Feni-1, while another central member Jahidul Islam Saikat did so for Feni-3.
After collecting the form, Ahsanul Mahbub Jubair said, "The party's nomination sales will continue until November 13. I have picked up the form for Feni-1."
On the nomination for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s seat, he said, "BNP has declared Begum Khaleda Zia as its candidate for Feni-1, Bogura-7, and Dinajpur-3. Discussions have been held on allocating Bogura to NCP. I hope the party will nominate me."
After collecting the form, Jahidul Islam Saikat said, "We want the NCP to engage youth in nation-building. The people of Daganbhuiyan and Sonagazi upazilas have never had representatives who stood by them. They spent most time outside Feni in luxury homes and cars. I represent the youth and am working to fulfill their aspirations. I want to contest the election to develop this constituency and involve young society in positive politics. The trust and love of the people are my strength."
Last Tuesday (November 4), NCP Chief Coordinator and Election Management Committee Chairman Nasiruddin Patwary told the media that the party will not announce any candidate for the seat of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Efforts to contact NCP Central Joint Member Secretary (Department) Salehuddin Sifat for comment went unanswered.
