Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, has launched the groundbreaking Odyssey OLED G6, the world’s first gaming monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate, designed specifically for gamers. Announced on Sunday, the monitor is now available in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, with plans for a global rollout soon. Priced at $1,488, the Odyssey OLED G6 promises an unparalleled gaming experience.

This 27-inch QHD (2560x1440) monitor boasts a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time, ensuring lightning-fast visuals. Powered by Samsung’s QD-OLED technology, it supports NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, minimizing screen tearing and stuttering for smooth gameplay. The monitor’s sleek metal frame features “Core Lighting+,” which syncs ambient lighting with on-screen content, and offers adjustable height, tilt, and rotation. Its near-borderless design enhances immersion, while connectivity includes DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI ports, a USB-A port, and a headphone jack.

Certified as VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, the monitor achieves up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness and supports over 2,100 colors and 110 skin tones with Pantone validation, making it ideal for both gamers and professional content creators. To combat OLED burn-in, Samsung has integrated “OLED Safeguard+” with a pulsating heat pipe and dynamic cooling system, claimed to be five times more effective than traditional methods. Static elements are automatically dimmed to prevent screen burn over time.
