Bashundhara Shubho Sangha Distributes Toothbrushes and Toothpaste to Street Children

In a commendable initiative, Bashundhara Shubho Sangha distributed toothbrushes and toothpaste among underprivileged street children in Moulvibazar. The distribution took place on Sunday (11 May) at noon along the walkway of the Manu River in Moulvibazar town.
The event was presided over by M Muhibur Rahman Muhib, President of Bashundhara Shubho Sangha’s district chapter. Distinguished guests included Professor Dr Fazlul Ali, former Principal of Moulvibazar Government College and advisor to Bashundhara Shubho Sangha, Md Saiful Islam, district correspondent of The Daily Kaler Kantha, Fakhurul Islam, Vice-President of the district chapter, Abu Tahel Rana, General Secretary, and member Md Sami. Also present were Abdul Salam, Founder-Director of Moulvibazar Path Shishu Bidyapeeth Ananda Pathshala, along with teachers Sabina Akter, Jannatul Ferdaus Urmi, and Fahima Sultana Liza. The guests handed over one toothbrush and one packet of toothpaste as gifts to 50 street children, both boys and girls, on behalf of Bashundhara Shubho Sangha.
The children expressed their gratitude, with many noting they had never used a toothbrush before. “We’ve learned the proper way to brush our teeth. From now on, we’ll brush twice a day, morning and night,” they said. Abdul Salam, Founder-Director of Ananda Pathshala, praised the initiative, stating, “I extend my gratitude to the organizers and all involved with Bashundhara Shubho Sangha for this unique effort. I urge them to continue such humanitarian activities.”
Professor Dr Fazlul Ali emphasized the importance of oral health, saying, “Oral hygiene is critical for overall health. Neglecting dental care can lead to various diseases, increasing health risks. This is why we’ve provided toothpaste and toothbrushes to these street children.”
