New Principal, Head Maulana, and 17 Teachers Appointed at Dhaka Alia

The Government Madrasa-e-Alia in Dhaka, the capital city, had been grappling with a shortage of teachers, with 44 vacant posts hampering educational activities for the past 30 years. This prolonged absence of educators disrupted regular teaching and learning processes, prompting students of the institution to stage human chains and protest marches to demand the swift appointment of teachers.

 

To address this critical teacher shortage, the Technical and Madrasa Education Division of the Ministry of Education issued a notification on Sunday, May 18, signed by Joint Secretary Muhammad Muniruzzaman Bhuiyan. The notification announced the appointment of 17 teachers, including Professor Mohammad Obaidul Haque from the Arabic and Islamic Studies Department of Dhaka College as the new Principal and Professor Md. Manzurur Rahman as the Head Maulana.

 

The newly appointed faculty members include Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman as Associate Professor of Physics; Mohammad Anwarul Haque Bhuiyan as Assistant Professor of Al-Qur’an; Dr. Md. Baki Billah as Assistant Professor of Islamic Education; Sharmin Akter Shimu as Assistant Professor of English; Md. Lokman Hossain as Assistant Professor of Hadith; Md. Rafiqul Islam Jamadar as Assistant Professor of Modern Arabic; Umme Kulsum as Lecturer in Mathematics; Md. Abdul Bari Farayezi as Lecturer in Islamic Education (Hadith); Md. Mamun Uddin as Lecturer in Classical Arabic; Nazmul Haque Akand as Lecturer in Islamic Education (Fiqh); Md. Shawkat Osman as Lecturer in Modern Arabic; Mohammad Ali Hasan as Lecturer in Islamic Education (Tafsir); Md. Zamir Uddin as Lecturer in Islamic Education (Al-Qur’an); Mohammad Yusuf as Lecturer in Islamic History and Culture; Mohammad Nazmul Hossain as Lecturer in Islamic Education (Aqaid); Md. Mahfuzul Haque Shamim as Lecturer in Islamic History and Culture; and Md. Amin as Lecturer in Islamic History and Culture.
